PLAYSTATION TV COMING THIS FALL FOR $99



The Playstation TV is coming to North America and Europe this Fall. It has the ability to play the entire library of PS Now games including select PS3 games and most Vita titles as well as PS1 and PS2 Classics. It can also pair with your PS4 via remote play so you can play PS4 games on a second television in your home. Additionally, it gives you access to video and music streaming services.

KINECT-LESS XBOX ONE COMING JUNE 9th FOR $399



Microsoft announced today that they will release a new Xbox One without Kinect that will retail for $399. Kinect will be sold separately.

They also announced that Games For Gold is coming to Xbox One and that Xbox 360 gold members will receive a bonus game of "Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition" in June. In addition, streaming services like Netflix and HBO Go will be available to all Xbox owners regardless of membership status.

KEVIN SPACEY TO BE FEATURED IN NEW CALL OF DUTY GAME

The latest installment in the wildly popular Call of Duty franchise is still six months away, but already the game's publisher Activision has launched its first official trailer.

Interestingly, famed actor and "House of Cards" star Kevin Spacey makes an appearance in the game. It appears that Spacey will play a powerful politician, though further details on his role in the game are unknown at this point.

"THE LAST OF US" TO BE MADE INTO FEATURE FILM

The Last of Us, Naughty Dog’s hit for the Playstation 3, will be made into a movie.

Neil Druckmann, the game’s creative director, will write the script, while Naughty Dog’s co-presidents Evan Wells and Christophe Balestra are signed on to the project as creative architects, reports Deadline Hollywood.

PLAYSTATION 4 SALES TOP 6 MILLION

Sales of Sony's PlayStation 4 have surpassed the 6 million mark after less than four months, according to Sony.

Revealing the latest stats on Tuesday, Sony said that customers have purchased more than 6 million PS4 units globally as of Sunday. That number includes the 370,000 units sold in Japan since the console launched there on February 22.

NEW PLAYSTATION SERVICE STREAMS PS3 GAMES TO PS4/VITA/PS3/TVs

Today, at CES 2014 in Las Vegas, we announced that PlayStation Now (PS Now), our new streaming game service, will be available in the US this summer. With PlayStation Now, you will be able to stream popular hits and classic games from the PS3 library, first on PS4 and PS3 systems, followed by PS Vita. In addition to PlayStation platforms, most 2014 US models of Sony’s BRAVIA TV lineup will support PS Now. Eventually the service will expand beyond PlayStation platforms and Sony devices, allowing you to stream PlayStation games across a broad range of Internet-connected devices.

LARA CROFT GETS FACE LIFT FOR NEXT-GEN

Square-Enix and Crystal Dynamics announced a 'definitive edition' of this year's Tomb Raider reboot, coming to Xbox One and Playstation 4 in January. Whilst perhaps not as visually stunning as dedicated-next-gen titles such as Killzone Shadowfall or Ryse, it's certainly a striking game - but hidden amongst the sparkly lighting effects and the floaty foliage in Crystal Dynamic's updated engine is a change that is making me feel a bit uncomfortable.

XBOX ONE SALES TOP 1 MILLION IN 24 HOURS

Sony isn't the only one that had a fantastic next-gen console launch. Microsoft has just announced that it, too, sold through one million Xbox One game systems in less than 24 hours. It's not a direct comparison, however: Microsoft launched in 13 countries, while the PlayStation 4 racked up one million in only US and Canada. Either way, Microsoft says it's the company's fastest selling console ever, surpassing Xbox 360 day-one sales, and that the console is now out of stock at most retailers.

Sony’s next-gen PlayStation 4 console is off to a good start. The company announced today that it has sold over 1 million consoles in just 24 hours. The PlayStation 4 is now Sony’s fastest-selling console, with North American sales surpassing the initial demand for the PlayStation 2 in Japan. European sales of the PS4 start in just under two weeks, so it’s entirely possible that Sony’s next-gen console could overtake Nintendo’s struggling Wii U sales (currently 3.91 million) by the end of the year.

Xbox One Launches November 22

The Xbox One launches in 13 markets including North America on November 22. After leaving it in the limbo of a November release window for a few months, Microsoft pinned a concrete release date on its next-gen system, one that'll see it arrive on North American retail shelves behind the PlayStation 4, due on November 15. On the other hand, the PS4 hits Europe one week after the Xbox One on November 29.
